Switched Services
Switched services are voice, data or video transmissions that are "switched" -or routed- to locations specified by the customer for each transmission. They include:
ISDN
A service designed to offer the most economical and flexible way to make local, national or international calls. The service includes telephony, fax, modem, conference calling, call forwarding, etc. Our ISDN services are based on standardized digital interfaces ISDN2 (2x64Kbit/s) or ISDN30 (30x64Kbit/s) and also offers European standardized ISDN features such as Advice of Charge (AOC), Multi-Subscriber Number (MSN), Calling Line Identity Presentation (CLIP), Direct Dialling In (DDI) and many others.
Virtual Connect
Norbell's Virtual Connect is an advanced portfolio of intelligent network (IN) services and can provide either "off-the-shelf" or tailor-made IN services.
Non-Switched Services
Non-switched services are those, which are not routed on a call-by-call basis. Instead, they involve a fixed communication link -or "pipe"- that carries voice, data or video between 2 or more specific locations. Norbell's non-switched services include:
Virtual Link
Virtual Link is a portfolio of services that offers customers a solution for interconnecting computer equipment between different locations or creating a Virtual Private Network (VPN) for internal voice calls with speeds ranging from 300 bit/s up to 2 Mbit/s. Virtual Link offers cost-effective alternative where frequent dial-up connections have to be made to the same destination.
MegaLink
MegaLink, a range of services designed to interconnect data and voice networks in multiple remote locations at very high speeds ranging from 2 Mbit/s up to 155 Mbit/s and beyond. MegaLink is typically used to build and manage corporate backbones, aggregate inter-company voice traffic between locations, or to create a fast pipe to the Internet. The available high speed allows for applications such as video communication, disk-mirroring to a remote backup site and disaster recovery, or the creation of virtual workgroup teams across locations.
LANLink
LANLink, a family of solutions to extend customer Local Area Network
(LAN) over multiple remote buildings without any performance sacrifice.
LANLink guarantees maximum security for the transfer of confidential
data, and the services are available for the extension of various types
of LANs, including Ethernet, Token Ring, Fast Ethernet or FDDI.
